In today’s post, I thought I would share one of my favorite recent casual date night outfits with you guys. Brent and I have always tried to go on a date night at least once a month. Now that it’s nice out and the COVID-19 restrictions have started to ease up in Kansas City, we have been going out to dinner more often, even once every week or two. Every once in a while if it’s a special occasion, we will get dressed up fancy and go to a really nice place. But usually, we just go to one of our favorite little local places and don’t worry about dressing up too much. For this casual date night, we went to Granite City, which is one of my favorite restaurants/breweries. I love getting a flight to share, and they also have great mixed drinks! So for this night, I wanted to make sure that my outfit was comfy, but also cute and trendy. You can find everything linked here, but I will also have everything linked at the end of this post.
I usually only wear my Spanx faux leather leggings in the Fall, but they can work great for spring outfits as well! I love how snug and secure they feel. I will say, I got my regular size medium, and I could have probably even sized up to a large. Other than being a little tight, they are definitely the most comfortable and flattering leggings that I own. They are a little pricey even if you get them on sale like I did, but 1000% worth the money.
For this outfit, I paired the leggings with a basic black and white striped tee from Old Navy, and a jean jacket also from Old Navy. The shirt is not see-through at all, and goes with just about any outfit. This is the first jean jacket I have bought, and I love it. It is an oversized fit, so I got a medium which is generally what I get in jackets and sweatshirts. I like to roll the sleeves to give it a more trendy and less country look (in my opinion 😅). This jacket is also great for sitting around a bonfire on cooler nights. Jean jackets can also be styled so many ways. You could wear this over a jumpsuit or maxi dress, or even a shorter dress to give it a more casual look. It could also be cute with a pair of white jean shorts and a simple black tee.
To finish the outfit, I chose these blinged out flip-flops that I got from JC Penney’s a couple of years ago. They were super cheap (like $12 maybe?) but I don’t think they are available anymore. I will link a similar pair. It’s an easy way to dress up the outfit a little. It’s hard to see, but I also added my butterfly necklace from Uncommon James that I wear almost every day, and a pair of hair pins that were gifted to me from Dillard’s when I did a collab with them recently. I have not been able to find them online, but again I will try to find a similar product to link. The bracelets I wore are stacking bracelets, which I have been really into lately! The gold one is from Calypso Bead Bar, and the black and white one is from a local company, SWELLmade Design Studio. Both are so cute and again can be styled with just about any outfit!
This purse is a recent purchase that I saved up for, and am absolutely in love with. It’s from Tory Burch, and I got it from Nordstrom. It honestly isn’t too pricey for a designer bag, and it is the most functional purse I have owned, while still being so pretty. It has a middle zipped compartment that divides the bag so that you can keep it organized better. It also has multiple pockets on the inside and one on the front, which also helps you to keep organized. I keep my phone in one pocket, pens and my work ID in another pocket, gift cards in another pocket, etc. It’s also big, but not so big that I feel ridiculous carrying it around. I had been looking for a bag like this for years, but never was completely satisfied enough to buy any. When I came across this one, I knew it was my dream bag. I also am just a big fan of Tory Burch, but I love that this bag is very attainable compared to other designer purses.
I loved that this outfit was simple and easy to throw together, but I felt stylish and trendy while still being super comfy for a casual date night. Let me know if you liked this outfit as much as I did, and if you would like to see more date night outfit ideas in the future!
xoxo, Bethany
