In case you haven’t notice, leopard print has been EVERYWHERE this Summer, and it looks like it will continue into Fall. I’m really not mad about it though! It is such an easy way to look fashionable, without actually having to put any effort into your outfit. My favorite kind of fashion.
I’m going to be honest, I accidentally fell into this trend. I don’t think I had owned a leopard print item since I was a kid, and even then it was just one shirt. Or cardigan? Dress? I don’t even remember, it was so long ago. Oh wait, I did use to own some leopard print flats a few years ago. So maybe it’s always been my thing…Anyway, back in May I was ordering some clothes from Shein and needed to spend just a few more dollars to get free shipping. So I bought a pair of leopard print sandals for $10. And the addiction began.
Soon after, I bought the cutest leopard print purse from Target. Then a Loopy case, and now I just recently bought a watch from Altar’d State. And of course that dress I shared in my last post from Banana Republic. The only time it gets really embarrassing is when I accidentally use 2 or 3 of these items at the same time. The other day I was in the waiting area at the chiropractor and realized that I was wearing my leopard print watch, had my leopard print purse, and my leopard print phone case. For a while, I wouldn’t take my phone out because I was so embarrassed! Didn’t help that I was surrounded by men, because they would not understand the obsession (I’m just guessing because Brent has never understood!).
BUT ANYWAY. Trends are trends for a reason. Leopard print is so fun and different and bold. Plus, it can basically be considered a neutral because it really goes with any color. I especially like wearing it with light pink, light blue or navy, white, or black outfits. And it goes great with gold jewelry.
I always feel really fashionable and fun when I incorporate this print into my outfit, and even just with my phone case. It’s an effortless way to make it look like you tried to be fashionable! Many of these items could be dressed up or down, which you know I love. For example, in the outfit above, I wore my leopard print watch and purse, jean shorts, and a blouse. So it’s casual but also stylish, and of course I did the Tan France French tuck. I got the watch from Altar’d State on sale for $15, which I thought was such a great deal until I just found it for $10 on their website!
I love this dress so much. I’ve shared it before in my Legends haul when I first tried it on at Banana Republic, and I immediately fell in love with it. It’s a little louder and more bold than my normal style, but at the same time it is so me. It’s comfortable and I like that it has elastic at the waist so it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a bag. The back of it is super cute too. The straps are a cross-back style so it gives a little extra flair. This would be the perfect date night outfit or for girl’s night out! I wore this with my Lulu’s heels, but you could dress this down by wearing some cute sandals and a jacket or cardigan. You could also make this fancier with some gold earrings or a gold necklace. The possibilities are endless with this dress, and that’s part of the reason I’m so obsessed with it right now.
This is probably my favorite purse that I own. It’s so cute, but also it’s the perfect size. I bring it to work, but also it works great for vacation or a night out. It can be casual with shorts and a t-shirt going on a Target run, or it can look super trendy with an outfit like the one above. I couldn’t find this exact purse on their website (I bought it a few months ago), but they have this exact print in other styles and lots of other leopard print purse options.
And of course THE LOOPY CASE. This is my favorite phone case I have ever had. I get questions about it all the time. I was a little skeptical since I used to have a popsocket for about 2 days before taking it off because it annoyed me so much. But this thing is so great. I am not the type of person to drop my phone all the time, but I use the loop all the time when I’m carrying a million things at once. I can conveniently just put a finger through the loop and carry it that way. As soon as they released the leopard print, I jumped right on it and I’ve loved it ever since.
And that is all my leopard print items! I know some people have WAY more extensive of a collection than I do, but I still feel like I have too much. I’m sure I will still buy more though. Let me know which item is your favorite and let me know some of your favorite leopard print items! I don’t think this trend will be going away any time soon.
