I seriously can’t believe that our wedding is coming up so soon. After a year and a half of being engaged, it doesn’t feel real that it’s already time for my bridal showers! My first bridal shower was at Riverwood Winery just outside of Weston, Missouri.
My best friend and MOH Amanda planned the perfect bridal shower. It was brunch themed (of course), with mimosas, the cutest mini-donuts with origami “diamonds” that she made herself, and a yogurt bar. She also made the cutest welcome sign and favors! I loved the mugs and boxes with chocolates in them. There were also cards for everyone to write their marriage advice for me, and I actually really love having those cards to keep and look back on.
Then we played a couple of games. I normally don’t really like cheesy shower games, but these were so much fun. First, everyone had to draw pictures of what they thought my dress would look like, and I had to pick the one that looked the most like my actual dress. Then, we played a game where we had to match a wedding tradition with its origin (hint: mostly has to do with keeping demons away), and whoever got the most correct won. Last, Amanda had asked Brent questions about me, and everyone (including me) had to guess what he answered. This is one of my favorite games at showers and I was actually really impressed that he had answered so many correct! Or I was just really good at knowing what he would answer…
After opening presents and taking pictures with the photobooth props (which we just got from Party City), a few of us stuck around and did a wine tasting. They have the BEST peach Bellini wine slushies, and all of their wines are great quality. Plus it’s a very affordable tasting. I think it’s like $10 to try all of their wines.
I am so grateful to have these friends and future family in my life. I love all of these girls, and it was such a fun bridal shower! Amanda did such a great job planning this bridal shower, and also planned the perfect Bachelorette trip to Napa Valley this summer. I wrote about that experience here if you want to check it out!
Just one more bridal shower (my mom is planning) and a local Bachelorette party in KC, and then it will be time for the wedding itself and then our honeymoon to Mexico. We’ve got such an exciting few weeks ahead of us, and I will for sure write posts about all of it, so stay tuned!
Also, if you are curious about my outfit – the dress was on sale at Altar’d State a couple months ago and I don’t think it’s available anymore. Here is a similar style (unfortunately not on sale), and here is another dress that would be just as cute and is on sale, and also a halter-style. Altar’d State can be a little pricey, but always has great options for bridal shower dresses. These shoes are my go-to that go great with literally any outfit.
Your friend did an amazing job planning the bridal shower! Can I hire her for mine too? Lol! I first have to find a man though…
Hope you have just as an amazing friend to throw you just as an amazing bridal shower someday! I think Pinterest was a big help haha
