3 Ways to Style Jean Shorts

Jean shorts are one of my favorite basic items that is in everyone’s closet. They can easily be dressed up or down, and are so simple to style. Plus, I am always cold. So if it’s warm enough for me to break out my jean shorts, that means that Summer can’t be too far away.

In today’s post, I am going to show you 3 ways to style jean shorts. Honestly, these are pretty simple (and similar-ish) outfits, but just a start to get you inspired for Spring and Summer fashion!

Also, I put together these outfits from items that were already in my closet. So I probably will not be able to find the exact items, but I will link as close as I can get from the same brands!

Outfit #1: Tied tee + simple accessories

This is probably my favorite outfit. It’s so simple, comfy, and casual. Probably the three words that best describe my style. These shorts from Maurices are so fun, with the star details that are also on one of the back pockets (the one I linked doesn’t have the stars unfortunately!). These are my 4th of July/Memorial Day shorts. Usually I wear this top from Victoria’s Secret PINK as pajamas honestly, but with a tank top or bralette underneath (because it is pretty see-through), this would be really cute. For shoes and accessories, I kept it pretty simple as well with these black sandals from Target and my favorite necklace from Kendra Scott (this is the exact necklace. Pretty sure this is the color I have too. LOVE IT.)

Outfit #2: Classy pink tank + gold/nude accessories

This is one of my favorite tank tops that I own, and it’s from Banana Republic. I got it during my Legends haul last year, so check that post for a link. I love that I am able to wear a cardigan or blazer with it for a cute work outfit, or wear it on it’s own for a day-to-day look. If you have read any of my other fashion posts, you probably have realized that blush pink is my favorite color. I like to pair it with simple gold jewelry and these tan/nude flip flops from JC Penney’s. Right now you can get those for $9! These shorts from Old Navy in particular are my favorite pair of jean shorts that I own. I love the fit and they are such good quality. I also like that they are a nice medium wash, not too light or too dark, so they are easy to style. For this look, I would wear the tank tucked, but either way would look good.

This could even be really cute with a belt, but I’m gonna be honest, I don’t even own a belt anymore since I never wear them. But if that’s your thing, I think it could really finish this outfit!

Outfit #3:

This outfit is similar to the last one since it’s another tank top, this one is from American Eagle. I actually usually wear another, more fitted tank underneath this one so it’s less revealing. Again, I am obsessed with gold accessories, so I paired it with a gold necklace that has charms on it, and gold sandals as well. The accessories and little details in the pockets of the shorts are really what make this outfit. I love how unique these sandals are too. They are also from JC Penney’s.

This look reminds me of something I would wear on the beach. It would also look good with a sweatshirt thrown over, so you could wear it if you’re at the ocean at night (one of my favorite things to do in the Summer!)

Putting all of these outfits together has gotten me really excited for warmer weather (and to actually be able to leave the house again…) Leave a comment and let me know which one is your favorite!

Ahh very cute outfits. I do like the simplicity, especially during the hotter months. I hate wearing layers but unfortunately I live in Wa, if I don’t wear layers I’ll freeze lol. But these are totally outfits I’d rock during summer 👏🏼.

Thanks for sharing doll! Hope you’re staying safe during these crazy times 😞.
