3 Ways to Style Faux Leather Leggings This Fall

Happy September! As soon as it hits September 1st, it’s Fall in my mind. Yes, I know that it is still in the 80s and maybe even 90s outside some days (although we have had a couple of beautiful cooler days lately too!). But the way I see it, Fall is a state of mind and not a temperature. Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the fashion, I love the home decor, I love the weather, and I love the holidays. I thrive from September through December. So many fun posts coming in the next few months, but I figured I would start out with 3 ways to style faux leather leggings this Fall.

You can expect to see me living in leggings all year ’round, not just during the Fall. I had been eyeing these Spanx faux leather leggings from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for the past couple of years, but finally decided to splurge and pick up a pair this year. They are normally around $100, but you can get them for $65 during the NSALE. They are definitely worth the splurge, in my opinion. But if you don’t want to spend quite so much money on a pair of leggings, there are plenty of similar faux leather leggings from other brands as well.

If you do get the Spanx brand, they are very compressive. Keep that in mind, and size up if you are in between sizes. I got my regular size Medium, and they fit great! I will say, when I first put them on, I thought there was no way they would fit. They felt like they would be so tight. But once I had them on, they are actually so comfy and fit perfectly. I like that they suck in your gut without feeling too restrictive. They also come in petite and plus sizes, and I have heard that if you are 5’4” or shorter, you will want to order them in petite. Just for reference, I am 5’6” and 140lb.

For today’s post, I wanted to show you guys how versatile these things are. You can seriously style them in so many ways. For the first look, I paired them with a simple t-shirt from Rosie Daze. I like to get t-shirts in size Medium sometimes so that they will be slightly oversized to wear with leggings. I kept the look super casual with a pair of Adidas sneakers and my favorite no-show socks from Amazon. This is the perfect look for lounging around the house, going on a walk, or running errands.

For the second look, I dressed them up with this long, cozy cardigan and these heeled, pointed-toe boots, both also from the NSALE this year. I like to size up to a Medium in cardigans for a more oversized fit. This look is great for a date night, girl’s night, or I would wear a more casual pair of boots or flats for a nice but still super comfy work outfit.

For my third look, I bundled up for colder weather with this furry fleece quarter zip sweatshirt from the NSALE, and these warm, furry boots from DSW a couple of years ago. Here is a similar pair also from DSW. I live in these boots and my sherpa fleeces during the winter, and these faux leather leggings will be a great addition to my winter wardrobe as well!

I love that you can pair these faux leather leggings with so many different outfits! Comment below to let me know which look you like the most, and be sure to send me photos of you styling your faux leather leggings too! I am always looking for new style ideas.

Love this! I would actually have been a bit scared to try a faux leather legging. Just not sure if I could pull that off — loving these looks though! Definitely something I could see myself wearing!

I have been hesitating to try them for a couple of years, but they actually are so good! They don’t feel like leather at all, just looks like it!
