I thought it would be fun to start posting my favorites each month. Some months I may not do a lot of shopping or have a lot of new favorites to share, but at least this month I have found some great new items over the past few weeks. So I had to narrow it down to just my favorites for September. Most of my September favorites are Fall (or cold weather) themed, some are year-round. But let’s just get into it!
1 // Syntus Essential Oil Diffuser – This is of course something that I use all year and not just in the Fall. I have had multiple essential oil diffusers over the past few years and I use it most during the Fall and Winter. My favorite is the Young Living one I have in our living room, but I wanted a smaller one to keep in our bedroom. This one from Amazon is perfect.
It has a few different timer settings, but lately I have just been leaving it on all night. You can also set it to have alternating colors, one color, or no light at all other than the buttons. Young Living oils are my favorite, but you can find other good options at Target or Amazon, as well as many other places. I like to diffuse lavender at night to help me relax and feel calm and cozy. I also have pumpkin and other Fall scents that I diffuse in the living room.
2 // Cable Knit Chenille Throw Pillow – It wouldn’t be a September favorites post without some home decor. I have two of these big, soft pillows from Target on our couch right now. They are great quality, especially important since they get so much use and since we let the dog on the furniture. These are large and perfect for sitting and reading a book, or watching TV and taking a nap. Super affordable too.
3 // Alani Nu Sugar-Free Energy Drink – Another item that I use all year, but these have been especially helpful in September since school is back in session, which means I am back to work. The mimosa flavor is my favorite, but they are all candy-type flavors and so yummy. Plus, they are on the healthier side. I got Brent addicted to the sour peach rings flavor, so you know it’s good!
4 // Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – No surprise here. I finally bought a pair during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year, and have been wearing them nonstop ever since. These are amazing quality, so comfy, and go with any outfit. The shiny leather look is so edgy and fun, but actually they don’t feel like leather at all. They just feel like regular leggings and are so comfortable.
5 // Socialite Long Sleeve Thermal Henley Top – Henley tops are another discovery from the NSALE this year (actually multiple items on this list were from this year’s NSALE). This one is super soft and can be easily dressed up a bit with jeans and boots, or can be worn with sweats and slippers lounging around the house. I even wear it to work sometimes, and it feels like wearing pajamas.
6 // Barefoot Dreams Cardigan – Yes, super pricey. But if you get it on sale, well worth the money. It feels like wearing the softest blanket, but you can get away with wearing it to work! This particular cardigan is great because it’s not bulky or awkward-looking like I know some BD cardigans can be. It does have pockets, and is long enough to be legging-friendly. Plus, it doubles as a blanket if you have a cold office like I do!
7 // Charmed Pointed Toe Mules – This is the first pair of mules I have owned, and I can’t believe it took me so long to try them. I get compliments almost on a daily basis when I wear these, mostly because the wicker-y material is so unique and pretty! (I made up that word, but then someone else used it too so I guess it’s a good description! haha) They are very comfy and kind of just feels like wearing flip flops but more appropriate for Fall since your toes are covered. Bonus: You don’t have to worry about keeping up with a pedicure.
8 // Hempz Pumpkin Spice & Vanilla Chai Herbal Body Moisturizer – This was an impulse buy when I was at Beauty Brands getting my hair done the other day, but it was an instant favorite! They had a display at the front of the store and I used a sample while I was waiting for my appointment, and then had to buy it because I was literally thinking about it the whole night. Smells like Fall, and Hempz is such a good quality product too! It is limited edition and sold out most places, but I did find it on Amazon. I would recommend checking out your local Beauty Brands in-store first though!
9 // Caramel Apple Corn with Apple Slices – I normally don’t share too much food on here, but this Fall I have been experimenting with more Fall-themed snacks! So I thought I would include them in my September favorites. I ordered all of these with 2-day shipping from Target. This caramel corn has dried apple slices in it, which is such a fun addition! Very sweet and indulgent. Boom Chicka Pop also has pumpkin spice drizzled kettle corn, which is amazing but I couldn’t find it to link! If you see it in stores, grab it.
10 // Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookies – If I could only eat one snack for the entire season, it would be these. So. Freaking. Yummy. It’s like two pumpkin spice cookies with cream in the middle. Pretty sure I ate the whole box in 2 nights and now need to order more ASAP. Plus, when I posted this on Instagram, at least a couple of people reached out to let me know they love them too!
11 // Apple Cinnamon Pretzels – These are like white chocolate covered pretzels, but they taste like apple too. Sounds a little weird, but it is so good! Such a unique snack too. Again, very sweet and you will eat the whole bag in one sitting if you don’t stop yourself.
12 // Dr. Talbot’s Infrared Thermometer – This is such a weird item to have on a favorites list, I know! But since I’m back to work now and I work in schools, I have to take my temperature every morning before going in (because Covid). At first, I was just using our old traditional thermometer, but I was so tired of having to sit there with it under my tongue for 30 seconds or however long it takes (doesn’t sound like a long time, but it is in the morning when you have to do it every single day!). So I bought this forehead thermometer from Target. It takes only one second to take your temperature. Game changer!! It is pricey, but I figure this is something I’ll be using every day during the pandemic, and for years afterwards, so it was worth the splurge for me.
What are some of your September favorites? Let me know in the comments!
xoxo, Bethany
